Look at the prices
For everything from diamond rings to rolling pins
It's close to crisis
But every Christmastime it's "here we go again now"

So we empty out our savings
Use a lot of credit
Try to find the bargains
It's no use to dread it
Yes we spend a lot of money
Buying all those presents
There isn't any use to worry
Until the bills come in a flurry

So bankers are happy
The charges mount whenever someone swipes a card
It's kinda crappy
That every year we spend with total disregard now

So we hope that rich relations

Wallet's getting smaller

Making lots of Christmas debt

For we love our sons and daughters
